Good morning everyone, I’m coming to you from a rainy Monday here in eastern Iowa. The title isn’t click bait I do have a giveaway for you all but you will have to wait until the end of the post for more details. Not a lot of reading going on last week because I was preoccupied with a new used car search and a trip to Chicago for a book signing. We decided to combine these two activities and searched for cars out in Chicago. It paid off because we ended up finding a wonderful new ride for an amazing price. Several thousand dollars cheaper than we would have found here at home. On Thursday we headed out with one car and came home Friday with a 2015 Toyota Rav4! The car is practically brand new with only 21,000 miles on it and after 60 reasonable payments, it will be all ours.
The original purpose of our trip was to attend a book signing with author Chloe Neill of the Chicagoland Vampires series. This signing for the first book in her spin-off series The Heirs of Chicagoland, the first book being Wild Hunger (linked to review). She shared with us that she is under contract for two books but there could be more depending on sales! It was a super fun evening listening to Ms. Neill answer questions about her books. While I was there I decided to pick up an extra copy of Wild Hunger to giveaway on the blog. I did share on Instagram that details would be in today’s post so here they are.
To win the signed copy of Chloe Neill’s Wild Hunger, first in the Heirs of Chicagoland series, all you need to do is leave a comment sharing your favorite Chicago food. If you’ve never been to Chicago no problem, simply share with which food you would love to try!
One comment/entry per person, US entries only (international shipping is outrageous! (and pesky international laws…)). Comments will be open for one week, Monday the 20th to Monday the 27th. I will randomly select the winner on Tuesday the 28th and contact them. If no reply I will randomly select another winner.
Good early Monday Morning everyone! Yes, that is right I am posting this at midnight because I am so excited to be bringing to you my first post-BEA giveaway, that and I took a two-hour nap on Sunday and I’m not ready to go to bed yet… Anyway I was thinking about how to hold giveaways for the books and goodies that I picked up at Bookexpo America in Chicago this month and I’ve decided that I am going to hold a book giveaway a month for the rest of 2016. I will also be holding flash giveaways over on the blog’s Facebook page for some of the goodies that I picked up, so be sure to go like the page in order to hear about all of those chances to win!
For the first month I have decided to start off with the biggie and giveaway the signed One With You by Sylvia Day, also the book is already out and I thought it better to hold onto some of the other titles to a little closer to their release dates. This first giveaway will be open for one week to United States and Canadian residence only (sorry) and starts NOW, so follow this link for your chance to win the last book in the Crossfire series!
morning…um afternoon everyone. I whittled my morning away with three loads of laundry, a battle with wasps for the honor of using my clothes line (they won the battle, but I’m determine to win the war), two loads of dishes and far too much time spent on-line debating politics. You see I’m a political junkie and the presidential primary is like the super bowl for me. Some of you know this already but I’m a liberal and am beginning to believe I am probably a social Democrat like my new-found hero Bernie Sanders. Sunday I was invited to a rally for him in Clinton Iowa where he spoke to a small crowd at a local union hall. IT WAS AMAZING! Here is a link to a picture I’ve found online from the event. You can see me in the black spotted dress and blonde hair right behind Bernie. If you scroll down the page you will see my friend got to sit next to Bernie’s wife. The rest of the weekends was spent watching movies with the hubby. We’ve not done that in a while and we managed to fit in four films on Saturday afternoon and another on Sunday. I don’t think I read a single page all weekend and I know I haven’t yet today.
Another exciting bit of news this weekend, my Facebook page for the blog passed 200 followers! Super excited about that and I encourage you all to follow me over there too. I share plenty of memes and other quick bits of news that don’t always make it to the blog.
One last reminder and then I am going to get my nose in a book. There is only 32 more hours to enter the giveaway for the signed Dragonbane book by Sherrilyn Kenyon. If you’ve not entered yet you better hurry! Remember only open to United States and Canadian residents. I can’t wait to share with you who is the lucky winner on Wednesday. Good Luck and Happy Reading!
