Book Synopsis:

With immortal good looks and scorching charisma, Justin Bricker has yet to meet a woman he can’t win over. His potential life mate should be no different. But instead of falling into his bed, Holly Bosley runs away and ends up mortally wounded. To save her, he has to turn her. And then Bricker learns the shocking truth: Holly’s already married.

Holly wakes up with a bump on her head, a craving for blood, and a sexy stranger who insists they belong together. She needs Bricker’s help to control her new abilities, even as she tries to resist his relentless seduction. Choosing between the world she knows and the eternity he offers is impossible. But Justin is fighting for his life mate—maybe even his life—and he’ll break every rule to do it.

My Review:

Oh what a fun addition to this long run series!  I love the Argeneau books.  They usually never fail to make me happy as I read about the latest crazy situation that brings two life mates together.  This book was long in the waiting as we finally get Bricker’s H.E.A.  After serving as the comic relief for many of the mate’s various stories it is Justin’s turn at finding his mate and payback’s a bitch along with a lot of fun.

When this story started out I knew it was going to be in for a great ride in the first chapter.  The cute meet for these two was one of the best of this entire series.  I’m not going to ruin it for you, but I thought it was hilarious and so true to form for this talented author.  Sands then quickly shook things up though by throwing a huge wrench in the plans by making the heroine married!  My breath stopped at that moment (because I don’t read the synopsis for this author’s books anymore) and I though oh no!  I couldn’t believe it and had to quickly push on and read the first 200 pages in a day because I had to know how she was going to save this h.e.a. for Justin.  How was he going to win over his Holly.

In my opinion this was a great way to shake up the series.  The limitations put on Justin just broke my heart as I felt so bad for him finding his life mate but not being able to claim her.  Then we had some of the previous heroes who didn’t help matters out by making the situation so much worse in how they paid Justin back.  Granted he probably deserved it but it was also a little unfair to Holly.  I was delighted to see how things ended up for the meddling duo at the end of the book.

Holly was a great match for Justin.  I loved the integrity and strength of this heroine and I am so glad things worked out for her and her former husband.  I was worried about what was going to become of him, but shouldn’t have because he was always in good hands with Ms. Sands.

This was such a fantastic addition to this series and I enjoyed it so much I went out and bought the next book in the series instead of waiting.  I want to live in this world just a bit longer.  I see that there is one more book for sure after #23, but personally I hope there are many more beyond that.   Sure some books are better than others, but most of the time we get an exciting fun read that puts a smile on our face and lets us escape for just a while.  If you are a fan of this series you will not want to miss Bricker’s story it will not disappoint you!
