Book Synopsis:

Anna Latham didn’t know how complicated life could be until she became a werewolf. And until she was mated to Charles Cornick, the son — and enforcer — of Bran, the leader of the North American werewolves, she didn’t know how dangerous it could be either…

Anna and Charles have just been enlisted to attend a summit to present Bran’s controversial proposition: that the wolves should finally reveal themselves to humans. But the most feared Alpha in Europe is dead set against the plan — and it seems like someone else might be too. When Anna is attacked by vampires using pack magic, the kind of power only werewolves should be able to draw on, Charles and Anna must combine their talents to hunt down whoever is behind it all — or risk losing everything…

My Review:

This continues to enthral me as I continue with book two in my reread.  For some reason I thought this story was part of Mercy’s series and had been waiting for it as I reread the main series.  Guess I have been blending the plot lines in my memory.

In book two we continue to watch Charles and Anna build their relationship and learn to function as a team.  Lots of pack politics in this story, which I loved, but also a nice amount of romance as the couple grew closer.  We are in Seattle for this story so we have a new PNW playground to explore and lots of new alphas were introduced.  Fae and Vampires continue to be the big bad guys and while I’m fine with the Fae being dark I continue to wish the vampires were not.

The narrator did an excellent job with the different accents of the different foreign alphas visiting and it was fun to hear him switch between them.  Charles’s and Bran’s voice throws me a bit as I heard something quite different in my head.

The next book in this series comes out tomorrow so I hope to get my turn with the next couple books so I can read the new release sooner rather than later!

My Rating: 5 Stars
