Monday Check-In: Busy and sad.

Monday Morning Check-In

Good Monday late afternoon everyone.  Well, I did warn you that last week I would not get much reading done and I didn’t. Hubby had the week off and we decided it was time to get him a new car.  So last week we spent our time trying to figure out what he wanted as I mourned the selling of my truck as it was the only thing with a value that we drove and we decided to use it as a trade in.  Oy, so complicated because we still owed money on the truck (only had it a year and a half)… Something I hope to never have to go through again.  Hubby is happy with his new car a 2016 Hyundai Elantra and I am pouting over having to now drive his 2006 Honda Civic.  Have you ever gone from a pick-up to a compact?  Not fun and I am going to bitch about for at least a week.  Seriously, I bawled when we took the new car, that I have yet to drive (don’t want to), and hubby was chattering about all that is great about his new car.  Anyway, I’ll get over it, like so much else this year, I will find a way to move on.  Then there was that disaster of the election last week. I wasn’t happy with either candidate so I was going to be depressed no matter who won.  But for the Dems to get their asses handed to them that badly, not good.  They have no one but themselves to blame, however, as they have lost touch with the majority of American’s that live and struggle in this country.  Voters decided to throw a brick through the establishment’s window and elect Trump.  We will be alright as a country, but if progressives ever want to win another election they need to get their head’s out of their asses and start listening to the mood of the country.

Okay, I’m done whining and lecturing, you don’t come here to read about that.  I’m going to try to get into my short story collection by John Scalzi tonight, maybe after Lucifer, but I also need to do dishes that have not been done in a week.  I promise less bitching and more books next week.  I just needed to vent.  Have a great week everyone.
