30 Day Book Challenge: Day 4

Day 4: Favorite book from your favorite series.

Styxx (Dark-Hunter, #22)

Goodreads Link, Blog Review

This was a difficult call.  There are several books in this series that I would like to put up here but if I needed to pick one that rises above them all then I have to go with Styxx.  After many, many, and I’m talking about the entire series up until this book hating this character I ended up loving him above all others.  It shouldn’t surprise me, Ms. Kenyon has done this several times but this one was the most drastic change of opinion of them all.  It is a good lesson for us all.  We may think we know who the ‘good-guys’ and ‘bad-guys’ are in life but in reality it is often simply a mater of perspective and until we know both sides of a story then we do not truly know a situation.  This was an amazing journey for one character and it will be difficult to knock this book out of my top spot for this series.

  1. Decided to try your favorite author but maybe I picked the wrong book to start with. So I am listening to this book right now and most of the time my mouth is just hanging open! Why would anyone put these characters through such tramatic events? I am apalled actually! And I hate the father as much as the uncle who seemed nice at first. Ugh…can it get better? Hope Styxx gets some much warranted revenge!

    • Lol Keely, You started off with one of her darkest books! No dipping your toe in first you just did a cannon ball right into the Kenyon world! She writes a tortured hero like nobody else. Styxx and Acheron are companion books and you might want to try his next to get the complete story. I hated Styxx up until this book, didn’t think she could redeem him at all then I read his book and man, it is true life is nothing but a mater of perspective and everyone has crap they have to deal with. I hope you stick it out, it is worth it in the end, but this is one of her darkest books.
