Good Monday morning everyone! I’m coming off a huge reading binge on Sunday where I worked diligently at finishing up my current read so I could count something like three books read in July…and one of them was audio. Pretty sad. I just wasn’t in a reading mood this month as I watched the political world self-destruct and my faith in a lot of things crumbled. This has led me to take a step back in my life and reevaluate what I want. This lead to some changes that needed to be made. I have created a new personal policy of NO POLITICS. I left the Democratic Party, resigned all my positions and have informed everyone that I will no longer discuss, on or off-line, with anyone politics. No posts, no phone calls, no bumper stickers, no yard signs, no more following it constantly online. Radio silence from here on out, boy is the husband happy about this change. I have also decided to give up bowling this year. While I enjoyed spending time with my friends I just don’t want to be the worst bowler there anymore. I actually ended with a lower average than I started with last year. I have decided I rather have my Thursdays free than go and beat myself up about a game where I just can’t seem to improve. All of this has led to more personal time which I hope to fill with reading which is one of the few things that actually makes me happy.
So with this change in focus for my personal life I have decided to try some new and old habits. I am going to try to get back on track with controlling my diet, something that is quite challenging when you are more social, and I am going to enact a new policy of no internet after 6 pm. Exceptions will be made but I am going to try to turn off the computer and open a book or watch a favorite program more nights than not during the week. Well that is about all. Last week was pretty stressful and I am still working out how to adjust to this new lifestyle. I am hoping it will lead to a happier and more relaxed Amy. Have a great week!
