Book Synopsis:

VAMPIRE . . . Raphael is a power like the world has never seen, the force behind the first ever alliance of North American lords, Cyn’s mate, lover, master.

SORCERER . . . Nick Katsaros, deceptively charming, ancient and commanding, driven by vengeance and a devastating loss, Cyn’s friend and one-time lover.

HUMAN . . . Cynthia “Cyn” Leighton, beautiful, sexy, and smart, the woman both men desire.

It was only a few months ago that Raphael lay helpless and dying, taken by treachery, while Cyn fought to save him. Unexpectedly, it was Nick who provided the key to his freedom. In exchange, he secured a promise that they would help him find and recover the same magical artifact that had been used to imprison Raphael. But when he calls on them to keep that promise, it will be Cyn who pays the price.

Torn between the two powerful men, struggling to keep them from killing each other, she undertakes a desperate search that will find her fighting for her life against a madman who wants her for himself.

My Review:

This series is so. much. fun!  Ms. Reynolds delivers again in this Cyn and Raphael novella and teases us with an intriguing cliffhanger that I think has set us up for a yummy spin-off series (fingers crossed).  While life got in the way of sitting down and devouring this book in one sitting I so could have.  Cyn and Raphael are the backbone to this series and hope the novellas featuring just them keep on coming.  I have read all but Adam’s story in this series and hope there are plenty of stories yet to come despite the fact that all the territories now have masters. The next full book is titled Lucifer and I’m hoping for another alpha male like Christian to spice things up.

This novella also featured Nick who is a past lover of Cyn’s as well as a sorcerer.  I believe this was mentioned in previous books, but I had forgotten.  If you did too, don’t worry Ms. Reynolds gives us all the details we need and dishes pretty deep on this aspect of the world we are just learning about.  We also get hit with the fact that Cyn has some special powers of her own and I hope we get to discover more about them in either the next book or novella.

As always this book features action, drama (this time between Nick and Raphael), and plenty of smoking bed sheets.  The chemistry between these mates is as strong as ever and they continue to make a great team.  I loved the cliffhanger ending as it did set up a spin off series that I think I found listed over in her books on Goodreads.  Yay!  This is a kick-ass series and if you enjoy paranormal romance or urban fantasy give it a try already.  I’m sure it will delight you as much as it does me.

My Rating: 5 Stars
