Read:6 Books, Pages 1485
Year to Date: 87 Books, 23,878 Pages
Goal for year: 85 books
Challenges Crossed Off: 57/74
I was going to make this a year in review, but I noticed all the little kiddies are posting a 2015 End of Year Survey hosted by The Perpetual Page-Turner. I’m going to jump all over that bandwagon and write up my own post next.
Looking Back:
Well I made it and managed to “earn” my little shiny badge over at Goodreads (Cheater!). I also managed to cross off 57 items from the two reading challenges that I participated in. I am missing 17 books…going to channel my inner Frozen character (haven’t seen the movie) and let it go. I am proud that I did manage to double the number of books I read from November. That’s progress right. I also managed to just squeeze in one more book as I read in the truck yesterday as we did some running around town. I also kind of slacked off on the blogging last month as many a Monday Check-In did not get posted. Letting that go too.
Looking Ahead:
For the blog as in life I’m going to use this time of year to take things back to square one and focus on doing what I committed to in the beginning. I’m going to focus on writing two blog posts each week, book reviews as I finish books, control my review request impulses and Read What I Like. NO. MORE. CHALLENGES. I have discovered that it sucks the fun out of reading for me and I’m just not going to do them anymore. The GoodRead’s challenge pledge is going to be a book a week or 52 if you are mathematically challenged like me. I am going to work on reading some of the books I already own and cleaning up my TBR pile. I have also canceled plans for a second blog because quite frankly one is enough. It might have seemed like a good idea at the time, but with needing to crack down on my weight loss and our Ebay sales I have enough on my plate. I also need to work on reading other blogs better and responding to comments.
Well I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and enjoyed the year here at my little blog. I look forward to starting a new year of reading with you all and hope 2016 is amazing for us all.
One last little thing: I’m going to start making plans to attend the BEA in Chicago this year. Anyone else going? Anyone looking for a roommate? Anyone want to share tips? More to come on that soon in a Bookish Thoughts post.
One of my goals for 2016 is to clean up my TBR pile as well. I hope you have a great new year!
I’m considering going to BEA this year, but haven’t fully committed yet. I’ve never gone before, so I’m extremely tempted to go this year.
