Well last month was a wash. I am surprised that I managed to read seven book, I could have sworn it was like only four. There was one DNF and three short reads though so that might be why it felt that way. I was just in a reading funk all month. I spent so much of the month worrying about the damn property tax bill and buying hay that it just sucked all the fun out of life. I’m still stressing about money, but hopefully things will even out soon. I’ve decided to knuckle down on that book buying ban and even pass on some of my favorite author’s new releases. If I’m so worried about money that I am having trouble sleeping at night I don’t need to be spending it on books. I have a whole Nook full of stuff to read, a to-read case that is overflowing and the whole public library system at my disposal. I will not run out of items to read. Ever.
Next month I am going to stick to a reading list in an effort to get back in the swing of things. I am taking the titles from Top Ten Tuesday’s TBR Fall 2015 and work my way down the list. I’ve already crossed two off the list and hope to finish up another this week yet. I’m finally going to start The 5th Wave and work at crossing off some items from my reading challenges of the year. Next year I might come up with my own reading challenge, like a list of books I own that I want to read that year or something like that. This weekend husband and I are breaking our spending freeze and going to a movie. I am super excited to get to see The Martian on the big screen. We were going to go see it on IMAX, but it is only available in 3D format for that screen and neither of us are fans. The picture just messes with our eyes and ends up looking strange. So not worth the extra price. I am toying with writing up a movie review for the film, kind of a compare and contrast from the book. What do you think? Is that something you would be interested in reading about?
