Monday Morning Check-In: Life marches on…

Good Monday morning everyone!  I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend,  well to those of you in the States at least.  Hubby had last week off from work and that of course messed up my reading time as it was either too noisy in the house, we were working on chores, or watching a movie.  We went thrift shopping twice during his time off too and I’m afraid I spent too much, especially considering he didn’t get paid for the time off last week…  It was nice though, spending the time with him and we did manage to get a lot done.

On the reading front, I started an audio book, The Goldfinch, this weekend that I am actually enjoying and is fairly appropriate for this time of year for me. I’ll go into more of why when review the book.  I was also approved for several ARC books that I wanted to read which means I need to get my butt off the computer and my nose in a book soon.  My chores are getting caught up, sheep were sheared this weekend while listening to my audio book.  I hope to continue listening as I get started on the flower beds for their much overdue weeding this week and make my weekly three-hour pass around the yard on the lawn mower.  I also received the first book in the Star Trek New Frontier series that I want to start soon.  It is a short book and I might even be able to read it today if the rain keeps up.

Happy Reading!

  1. I know just what you mean about computer time and reading time. I’d probably read twice as many books if I didn’t spend so much time on the Internet. Oh well, it’s fun. I love reading about what everyone else is reading and enjoying (or not). Bad for TBR pile though.
