Monday Morning Check-In: Reading Slump Continues…

Welcome to the second Monday Morning Check-In. I hope you all had a great weekend and had a better time reading than I did.  My reading slump continues.  I’m not sure what the hell is causing it, but I’m thinking it is a wider melancholy that has taken hold.  Basically I’m in a funk and don’t feel like doing anything…  Which is not great because I have a ton of things that need to get done! The weather has not been much help, when it isn’t cold its raining, when it isn’t cold or rainy I’m at work.  It will all pass, but right now all I want to do is sleep.

I broke my book buying ban recently, and I’m not talking about the little 50 cent books I pick up at garage and library sales.  I bought two books through B&N to reward myself for planting the garden all by myself.   All 2000 square feet of it! Had to put up a fence thanks to the broccoli eating rabbits and tomato stealing peacocks.  So what did I buy when I decided to be bad?  I picked up the new release by Darynda Jones, Eighth Grave After Dark and The Shadows by J.R. Ward.   When I posted about it on FB  Ms. Jones even commented on my post which made my day.  It is so cool when authors interact with their fans,  I know how very busy they are and to have them leave a quick note like she did is so appreciated.  Now to shamelessly brag about it even more here is my post.

Shameless bragging

So very cool!

Well I better be going I have a ton of work yet to do for our yard sale and limited days in which to get it done in.  Happy reading everyone.
