Last Month’s Theme: First three books in A Song of Fire and Ice series
I made it. January is over and we are welcoming February in with 9 inches of snow in Iowa. Yuck. Spending the first day of the month curled up with a book next to a roaring fire sounds like a plan. Heaven knows there isn’t going to be anything worth watching on TV today…;). I am kind of digging this theme reading each month. It is a fun way to keep things fresh and plan my future reads a bit. If I receive an ARC book that needs to be read and reviewed I will work those into the month no matter the theme though.
I did enjoy binge reading the Game of Thrones books, but after a while I had it with all the war and violence. Now I’m going to watch it instead of read the violence as I have requested the TV series through Netflix. It will be interesting to see how the books and show compare. I’ll let you know what I think some Thursday Thoughts after I watch the series.
For February I picked Romance as the theme for my reading. It is the month Valentine’s Day falls in after all and after a month of reading heavy books with serious drama I so need to read some fluff. I am going to try and mix things up in the romance dept though, I won’t just select paranormal titles but try to see what else the genre has to offer. I have gone through my to-read list over on Goodreads and come up with some titles to try and fit in this month. I may add or subtract from the list, but it may give you an idea what sort of books you can be expecting me to review this month.
