Top Ten Tuesday: 2015 Debut Novels

Welcome to another contribution to the wildly popular blog meme, Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week they ask us to share lists on: January 6: Top Ten Most Anticipated Debut Novels For 2015.  This is going to be a tough list to come up with…  With all the already released to-read books, an entire shelf of sale books, and all the series that I read I rarely seek out new author that have yet to publish their first book.  I’m more of a it’s-so-popular-I’ll-read-it-to-see-what-all-the-fuss-is-about kinda girl.  So this list is going to take some digging, but hopefully I will be able to come up with ten titles to add to my to-read list.

Top Ten Debut Novels I’m interested in for 2015

Click on pictures to visit book’s page on Goodreads for synopsis and/or add to your to-read list.

  1. Becoming Jinn (Becoming Jinn, #1)  Becoming Jinn by Lori Goldstein 4/21/15.   After reading that non fiction title about Jinn,  this one definitely looks interesting. Paranormal, Romance and fantasy
  2. Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)  Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard 2/10/15.  Lot of buzz about this one.  Since I’m enjoying Thrones so much perhaps I should look into other high fantasy novels.  High fantasy, paranormal, YA, romace.
  3. Woven  Woven by Michael Jensen 1/27/15.  If I’m going to add the previous one to my to-read list might as well add this one too.  YA & High Fantasy
  4. The Witch Hunter The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker 6/2/15.  This one looks to be an interesting mix of genres; paranormal, fantasy, history, supernatural.
  5. Dove Arising (Dove Chronicles, #1)  Dove Arising by Karen Bao 2/24/15.  finally something other than fantasy.  Dystopian, Science fiction, YA
  6. Written in the Stars Written in the Stars by Aisha Saeed 10/24/15.  This one looks really interesting from a cultural standpoint.  Romance, YA, contemporary, cultural
  7. The Fire Sermon (The Fire Sermon, #1) The Fire Sermon by Francesca Haig 10/10/15.  I know we are all burned out on YA dystopian fiction, but this one has an interesting twist that I hope make it worth the try.  YA, Dystopian, Post-Apocalyptic.
  8. Nobody’s Goddess by Amy McNulty 4/21/15.  No cover for this one yet.  This one looks interesting, could delve into some cultural issues we have on appearance.  YA, fantasy, paranormal, dystopian.
  9. The Last True Vampire (True Vampire, #1) The Last True Vampire by Kate Baxter 6/2/15.  It was really hard to find new vampire authors for this list.  Sure vamps is still being written, but most of the books coming out are in established series.  I for one will always read vampire stories, so publishers keep them coming please.  Paranormal, romance
  10. Mindwalker (Mindwalker, #1) Mindwalker by A.J.Steiger 6/9/15.  Screw it.  I searched for well over and hour and this was the only book that looked interesting enough to add to my to-read list.  On  the bonus side the author and I have the same initials which I will need to keep in mind for my 2015 reading challenge.  YA, science fiction, dystopian
