Top Ten Tuesday

toptentuesday2

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s list is top 10 popular authors we’ve never read.

I’ve decided to join in the fun at this great blog I found where they give everyone a topic and we all create our own top ten lists.  There are tons of blogs listed at there site that play along, I look forward to checking them out and hope you do too.  Anyway… here is my contribution to Top Ten Tuesday and the top ten popular authors I’ve never read…and many never plan too, some I just haven’t gotten around to yet.  I’ll try and keep the authors to the genres I tend to read.  Sure there are thousands of authors we will never get around to reading, but that is mainly because they don’t write the types of books we gravitate towards. For example I’ve never read John Grisham, but I don’t think it is in the spirit of this list to include him as one of the authors.

  1. Nicholas Sparks
  2. Nora Roberts
  3. Marissa Meyer
  4. Maggie Stiefvater
  5. Keri Arthur
  6. Christina Dodd
  7. Larissa Ione
  8. Richelle Mead
  9. Karen Chance
  10. Chloe Neill

Alright some of those might be a stretch for ‘popular’ authors, but coming up with this list was more difficult than I thought it would be.  Every time I thought I had an author to add I would discover that I had read at least one of their books.  If this was a list of ten authors you wish you had never read I might have had an easier time.

Some of these like Sparks and Roberts I don’t think I will ever get around to reading.  Sparks just doesn’t appeal to me, saw one of the movies (I know, I know never judge a book by its movie) and it was just too depressing at the end, something I have heard from others that his books are tearjerkers and I don’t want to be depressed every time I finish a book.  The rest of the list it is just a matter of I haven’t gotten around to them yet.

Feel free to share your own list of authors you haven’t gotten around to reading yet or plan to never read in the comments.

  1. I haven’t read most of these authors, either, so you’re not alone! Though I do really like Maggie Stiefvater, particularly THE RAVEN BOYS. Also, I’m reading Marissa Meyer’s first book right now, and it’s better than I expected.

    Thanks so much for following!

    1. I’ve has Maggie Stiefvater on my to-read list for a while now. I love paranormal and YA, but have stuck mostly to my vamp books. Recently though I fell in love with a were series and just might have to move her first series up on my reading list. Meyer’s book has been popular in the community I live in, may have to give that a go soon too. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I have actually never read a Nicholas Sparks book! I’m sure I’ll get to one eventually! :) And I haven’t read anything by any of the other authors on your list either, but I’ve got a few of their books on my TBR list!

    1. All of them, except Sparks, are on my to read list somewhere. People love him,Sparks, but I just don’t know. I’ve even had a library patron call me at home to tell me one of his books was the best she had ever read. Perhaps I should give one a try… Thanks for stopping by!

      1. I agree, I don’t know why either but I’ve never been compelled to read any of his books… But at the same time, I feel like I should one day try reading one.
